Thought for the Day
Friday, August 31, 2007
Lunar eclipses rule a period of time covering many months before and after the event. This week’s eclipse occurred with the sun in the sign of nature, Virgo, and the Moon in watery Pisces. This correlates with the recent global floods, earthquakes and extreme weather.
From our geocentric point of view the Sun appears to move in an orbit around us. This path is known as the ecliptic and is divided into 12 equal sections of 30 degrees – one for each sign of the zodiac. All the planets journey along this path. It takes the Moon, our luminary, an average of about 54 hours to travel through each of the 12 sections or zodiac signs.
And as it travels through each sign, there are subtle changes that take place in the mood of life here on planet Earth. Sometimes they are too subtle to be identified, but some of them come through crystal clear.
Yesterday, I mentioned that the Moon entered the area of the sky attributed to Aries. This is one that is probably one of the easiest to detect. If you watch out for it each month, you will begin to notice the feeling that comes with it. It brings an upbeat go-get-it kind of mood. A surge in enthusiasm and determination to is pretty unmistakable.
The Moon remains in fiery Aries until very early Saturday morning. Use this energy and get done what needs to be done. I’ll mention many of these lunar sign changes as they come up, here in this Thought for the Day. It’ll give you practice in getting in touch with the natural rhythms within which we are immersed.
Anyone who begins to feel this interconnectedness between the stars and themselves, experiences a sense of elation. Life has profound meaning. We are not just an evolutionary accident of the cosmos. It’s an evolution filled with profound purpose.
If today is your birthday
Spontaneity and optimism will inspire you to exceed your limitations. The less you fret over shortcomings, the faster you’ll find fortunate experiences come flooding into your life. You’re determined efforts will bring progress within 3 months.
Happy birthday to:
Chris Tucker, 35.
Richard Gere, 58.
Van Morrison, 62.
We are all born with a distinct purpose and an exciting destiny waiting to be fulfilled, but the deafening din of this mad world makes it virtually impossible to correctly get our bearings.
