Comets are often referred to as harbingers of doom. That sounds severe and I don’t like to submit to negative outlooks, but they do seem to bring about harsh developments. Hale Bopp in 1997 preceded the death of Princes Diana. Comet McNaught in January 2007 was clearly connected to the death of Anne Nicole Smith. And now, Comet Holmes unexpectedly flared up in late October and throughout November as Benazir Bhutto suddenly hit the headlines with her return to Pakistan and the subsequent state of emergency. I wrote back in October that comets often herald the demise of world leaders or prominent public figures. Sure enough, it’s sadly come to pass.

As these last days of 2007 unfold, many people have a sense of apprehension as to what 2008 will bring – don’t lose hope. There is tension. That is for certain. But adversity is the friend of progress. If humanity as a whole unites in its desire for a better world – exciting and startling developments will take place. We’re in for some very big surprises in 2008.

You won’t be shedding many tears to have this past year come to an end. The stars can’t promise that this next year will be perfect, but you will easily bat aside any challenges that come along. A long run of happiness is starting now.
