Thought for the Day

Friday, September 3, 2010
Well, it’s official – God did not create the universe. If Stephen Hawking says so, it must be true. According to his latest book, there is no place for God in theories on the creation of the Universe. The fact that other planets have been discovered out there beyond our solar system makes our world “far less remarkable, and far less compelling as evidence that the Earth was carefully designed just to please us human beings.”

What an odd way of viewing our existence. He’s such a cheery soul. Don’t his words just fill you with hope and inspiration? But then, I suppose, that’s what science is all about. It reduces us all into random molecules living empty and meaningless lives waiting for the end to come.

“Out, out, brief candle! / Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player / That struts and frets his hour upon the stage / And then is heard no more.

Shakespeare confronted these dour thoughts centuries ago. Interesting that science has apparently made great progress since those alchemical days, but our philosophical understanding of existence is still stuck where it was back then.

We humans and all the animal kingdom plus all the miracles and marvels of nature are simply the produce of random coincidence – pure and simple. We are all manufactured by some soulless machine that dropped us into life like objects off a conveyor belt.

How sad to actually think that way. How drab. How grey. How monotonous. And how false! Nothing could be further from the truth!

Life is brimming with hope and expectation. A benevolent cosmic intelligence is at the center of our universe. If modern science were less arrogant, cynical and self-indulgent, it would embrace the fundamental truth of astrology, which is that everything in our universe comes from some central organizing system. There is no such thing as pure random coincidence. Everything that happens to us has profound meaning and deep significance.

Your life has purpose. You are alive and on this Earth in order to accomplish great things. Life is a stream flowing towards the sea and you are on a boat floating on that current. You are being lead to fulfilment. Let it take you. It’s a wonderful journey that will bring great happiness as long as you believe in it!

If today is your birthday
You can expect this year to be a fundamental turning point in the course of your life. As you gain more confidence, you will begin to understand your own true worth. This will lead to greater ease in setting your goals and successfully reaching them. It’ll all seem quite natural.

Happy birthday to:
Charlie sheen, 45.
Irene Papas, 84.

Born today:
Alan Ladd (1913-1964)

We are all born with a distinct purpose and an exciting destiny waiting to be fulfilled, but the deafening din of this mad world makes it virtually impossible to correctly get our bearings.

If you need an objective view of a burning issue or require advice in making a major decision, the ancient wisdom of astrology can provide guidance.

With your Date, Time (if you have it) and Place of Birth you can order an Astrology Report or book a Live Personal Reading with Phil.
