THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK – PART 1
Saturday February 4, 2012

A Busy Week in Store
Hermes is Sending you a Postcard from the Sun
Monday kicks off with an energetic and vibrant Moon in Leo at 8:24am ET. Stay tuned for a nice burst of enthusiasm and let’s-get-it-done kind of mood. It’ll start at gently and softly, and then grow in strength like the tide changing direction. When you feel it, nurture and encourage it. Believe in it and it will grow.

On Tuesday, Mercury reaches the far side of the Sun. If you recall, it left its close approach to Earth on December 14. That was the last day of the 3-week Mercury retrograde which ran from Nov 24 to Dec14. Dec 14 brought the Station Direct – the point when Mercury returned to direct motion. At that time, Hermes (Mercury) began his long journey to the far side of the Sun.

Hermes is out there looking for ways to connect you with what you really need right now. Your dreams, your hopes, your aspirations – something good is cooking for you as we speak.

This is a crucial time that encompasses a week or two either side of Tues Feb 7. Look for encouraging news or contacts that are connected to what was high on you agenda last Nov/Dec. Hermes will be sending you a message about how it’s all going. Listen carefully. Something good is in the works.

There’s a lot happening on Tuesday. Firstly, Mercury reaches the far side of the Sun as mentioned above. Then Saturn does a Station Retrograde. That’s when planets reverse direction and turn backwards. Saturn will continue moving backwards all the way through to late June. Saturn’s influence has been growing over the past few weeks in its approach to the Station Retrograde.

If Saturn is in a difficult area of your chart, you are likely to feel the tedium of life is getting to be too much. Where has the joy gone? Is there a deficiency of pleasure in your life. Do your best to stay positive. Keep your thoughts focussed on uplifting notions. Somewhere in your life Venus and Jupiter are bringing good things – an escape route of sorts. The bugle call of the cavalry will come to your rescue.

Saturn retrograde periods are positive and industrious times. You’re now working hard to build a solid foundation for your future.

There is plenty more coming up this week. Let’s continue this tomorrow.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK – PART 2
Sunday February 5, 2012

Full Moon Crescendo as Venus leaves Pisces
The Full Moon is here. It peaks on Tues 7 Feb at 4:54pm ET. It’s been pumping up the volume over this weekend. Revellers have been out partying and making noise. Perhaps, you’ve done the wise thing and joined in and burned the midnight oil; in which case, you’re probably sleeping right now. Check the palms of your hands for any unsightly clumps of hair growing there. Werewolves are about!

World events have been building up to a crescendo over the past few days. Look at developments in Egypt and Syria for example.

In Toronto, negotiations between the City of Toronto and the union representing its workers reached a dramatic pitch over the weekend. A tentative contract agreement was achieved in the small hours of Sunday that averts a work stoppage. Negotiators will reconvene at 9am ET Monday to finalize the agreement. That’s fits in nicely with the Full Moon phase which doesn’t peak until Tuesday.

Full Moons amplify the intensity and power of everything that is in the air. The New Moon (seeds) of Jan 23 kicked of the 29.5-day lunar month. The First Quarter (flowers) was reached last Tuesday. The Full Moon (fruit) is basically now and building up to a screaming crescendo on Tuesday.

Look over your diary and journal to get a grasp of how this lunar month has been developing for you. Some people complain about Full Moons, but it doesn’t have to be bad. Choose your mood. Take control. Be upbeat and confident. Expect success. You deserve it. With the right attitude the Full Moon will help you.

On Wednesday, Venus moves into the action-sign of Aries. Venus rules relationships, sexuality, finance and much more. Aries is going to stoke up the flames. The intensity level will increase.

Venus in Aries will enhance the charm, charisma and luck of all the fire signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius and the air signs of Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. If you don’t fall into any these categories, no worries; Venus’ entry into Aries will bring a positive shift somewhere in your life. Be alert to good news or an upbeat feel-good factor making itself felt. Nurture it.

On Friday, Venus joins up with the unpredictable energy of Uranus. You know what that means: the revolutionary spirit is going to ramp up to fever pitch. Michael Moore is very likely to be in the news this week. World events will get very agitated.

And you? Well, you’ll get an I-can’t-wait-any-longer kind of feeling. Don’t be surprised if you stick your head out the window and shout it out to the world. I’ll be doing the same. See you there.

Friday brings a long void-of-course Moon. Remember those? It’s inadvisable to make major decisions or crucial business transactions during these times. It begins on Fri 10 Feb at 12:11am ET and ends at 2:54pm ET

These are good periods of time for doing just about everything, so don’t worry about it. Just don’t make any final decision or launch important initiatives. And if doing any of the above is unavoidable, that’s OK too. You’ll get a chance at some point to re-tool or make crucial adjustments that will put everything on the right trajectory.

Have a great week! Good luck!!

Weekend Thoughts – Saturday & Sunday

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Saturday January 28, 2012

Moon is in Good Company with Venus and Jupiter
The New Moon (seed) of last Monday is waxing through the crescent stage over the past week. On Monday at 11:00pm ET, it will reach the First Quarter Phase (flower) when it appears as an illuminated left-sided semi-circle. Issues you’ve been dealing with this week will reach a crescendo with next week’s Full Moon (fruit).

Over the past couple of days the crescent Moon has moved through a picture-perfect approach to Venus. It’s now on its way to meet up with the wonderful planet of good fortune – Jupiter. It’s a truly inspiring sight in the western sky after dusk.

Focus your thoughts and make your prayers and proclaim your wishes over this weekend. The sky is highly receptive and accommodating. As regards your hopes for romance, your outlook is highly auspicious.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Sunday January 29, 2012

Neptune enters Pisces
In early April of 2011, Neptune left Aquarius and entered the spiritual sign of Pisces. Its shift into retrograde (backward) motion in June 2011 sent it back for another dip in Aquarius by August 2011. Then in November, it returned to direct motion once more and began a journey that brings it back into Pisces this week on Friday.

Neptune, known in more ancient times as Poseidon will this time remain in Pisces all the way through to 2026. Neptune dissolves the sense of self that makes us all different from each other. It’s entry into Pisces holds the promise of unity and love transcending all mankind.

It promises to bring a movement against the rationalization of instinct. It will bring a rebirth of 19th century romanticism. Will we see the return of the pre-eminence of the horse and carriage?

Watch the news this week and next for clues as to what Neptune’s long sojourn in Pisces will bring. Don’t be surprised if Richard Branson makes an announcement concerning his plans to explore the bottom of the world’s oceans on a journey of exploration.

We are all born with a distinct purpose and an exciting destiny waiting to be fulfilled, but the deafening din of this mad world makes it virtually impossible to correctly get our bearings.

If you need an objective view of a burning issue or require advice in making a major decision, the ancient wisdom of astrology can provide guidance.

Weekend Thoughts – Saturday & Sunday

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Saturday January 21, 2011

Dolphin Power
I have a sneaking suspicion, as I’m sure you do, that dolphins are far more intelligent that we are. In fact, I’d being willing to bet that most animals are. Dolphins, in particular though, seem to shine above the rest. Their high-pitched songs and conversations have a joyous nuance to them. Listening to them lighten our spirits with a sense of light and hope.

CBC TV aired a documentary last week about a center in the Middle East where dolphins help people recover from severe psychological traumas. It was a very touching story of how a teenager, who was brutally beaten by thugs to the edge of death, was brought out of a cone of silence and back into the world over the course of 4 years. The dolphins’ love guided him out of his psychological dungeon.

It leads one to think that perhaps their intelligence is so far beyond ours that we simply do not have the tools to even get a basic understanding of the width and breadth of their wisdom. We are finite, they are infinite. It’s like a miniscule little ant standing at the base of the Great Pyramid in Egypt muttering, “Pyramid, what pyramid. I don’t see anything.” Man thinks he’s clever, but in reality, he’s and infinitesimally small being that cannot comprehend the grandeur of the world he lives in.

We are like tiny ants shifting about grains of sand in the desert, not realizing that a magnificent pyramid towers over us.

Modern Man is a masculine, rational, left-brain being. We need the feminine, intuitive right-brain to grow and bring the balance we need.
We need the feminine, intuitive right-brain to grow and bring the balance we need.

A year ago, thousands of birds fell out of the sky and millions of fish and crustaceans washed up on shore in various parts of the world. As the months elapsed, it became apparent that the birds were warning us of severe tornadoes lashing the southern states of America. The dead fish forecast torrential rain, floods in various parts of the world and the 100 foot tsunami that swept over Japan.

Nature spoke to us loud and clear last in 2011. Her message can only be perceived through the feminine and intuitive right-brain consciousness.

So, alarm bells rang with the news last week, that 60 dolphins beached themselves along the shores of Cape Code, south of Boston.

Apparently, this has happened before, but in other years only one dolphin or a group would be found on a single beach. This year, though, dozens have beached themselves.

Nature, it seems, is speaking to us yet again. It’s a mystery, but time will reveal their message. And with the river of time now flooding ahead at an wild and breakneck speed, we won’t have to wait long before we find out what that message exactly is.

Weekend Thoughts

Saturday January 14, 2011
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Moon in Charismatic Libra all Weekend
As Mercury met up with Pluto yesterday news emerged of two incidents last week when Iranian gunboats challenging a US warship just outside the Gulf near the Strait of Hormuz and a U.S. Coast Guard cutter in the northern Gulf. No shots were fired and the speedboats backed off.

With Uranus (break it open kind of energy) moving deeper into an angle of confrontation with Pluto, ruler nuclear power, the threat of a shooting match between the U.S. and Iran grow day by day.

Mars (planet of war) is grinding to a halt as it prepares to stop on January 24 and begin a 2 and a half month retrograde phase. I’ll look into that more in the coming days and weeks. Mars turns backwards once-every-two years. It’ll have a powerful influence in your life as well as the global picture.

Mars provides plenty of vibrant energy that can be used to get things moving in your life. Its influence will be good for you. There is every reason to feel positive.

The Last Quarter Moon phase takes place this Monday. Over this weekend, you’ll start to better understand certain issues that have topped your agenda in recent weeks. The Moon in Libra all weekend will enhance your ability to attain a rational and logical perspective. It’s a good time to enjoy the finer things in life like the arts, music and romance. So, forget your woes. Cast out your worries. Decide now to make this weekend a good one.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Mars Grinding Down to a Halt
Mars retrograde cycles come once-every-two-years. All the planets have periods of time when they appear to move backwards. Regular readers of this column will know that Mercury recently performed its once-in-four-month retrograde phase from Nov 24 to Dec 14.

By the way, can you believe that Christmas has come and gone? Calendar events are speeding by at a breakneck pace.

Of course, planets don’t really move backwards, but their relative movement to the Sun and Earth makes them appear to do so.

Mars is now putting on the brakes and slowing to down to a crawl. It comes to a full stop next week on Tuesday Jan 24. The point in its cycle when it stops and turns backwards is called the Station Retrograde. Its period of backward motion will last for 2-1/2 months all the way through to April 14. That seems like a long way off, but just you wait and see how fast the time goes.

The slower a planet moves the more powerful it becomes. So, with the Mars now grinding to a halt, it is quite fitting that Russia’s failed Mars probe, Phobos-Grunt, grabbed the headlines today, Sunday, by falling back to Earth. It was launched last November 9, 2011 on a mission which promised to return rocky samples from Mars’ biggest moon. Its failed launch came at the point when Mars moved into an opposition (180 degree) alignment to Chiron. The so-called “wounded healer’ often causes failures at times of harsh alignments.

I’ll write more tomorrow about Mars and its links to the Italian cruise ship Costa Concordia running aground off Italy and the looming city workers strike in Toronto.

Last Quarter Lunar Phase
The Moon reaches the Last Quarter Phase Monday morning 4:08am ET. The waning Moon will be an illuminated left-sided semi-circle. It’s analogous to third base on the baseball diamond. We now have our eye on home base and the new Moon. With only a week remaining in the 29.5-day lunar month, it’s time now to put all our projects in order and get ready for the surge of energy that will come with next week’s New Moon.

We are all born with a distinct purpose and an exciting destiny waiting to be fulfilled, but the deafening din of this mad world makes it virtually impossible to correctly get our bearings.

Weekend Thoughts – Saturday & Sunday

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Saturday December 24, 2011

The Night before Christmas
Here it is, Christmas Eve again. We’ve come around full circle yet and so much has happened in the interim. The river of time is frothing and foaming like white water rapids. We’re all doing our best to keep our kayaks afloat and navigate around all the rocks and boulders.

Mercury is moving into a caustic alignment with impatient Mars over the next few days for about a week. That will speed the pace of life up even further. It could also create tension and flashes of temper. Take a deep breath and slow it all down. Listen carefully to what people are saying and give them the benefit of the doubt, if they seem to say something you don’t like. It’s probably just a misunderstanding. Sort it out promptly in a calm fashion.

With Venus in sociable Aquarius, though, it is a good time to enjoy the holidays and get together with family and friends. There’s so much pressure to rush around getting gifts and fulfilling obligations, yet it’s important to not let the stress drag you down. This season is all about love, compassion and the joy of living.

Do your best to slow things down and enjoy the moment your living!

As we approach the New Year, it is imperative now more than ever that we appreciate everything that is good in our lives. We must put away our grievances and disputes, and focus on how lucky we are to have people we love and who love us. Let’s not forget our pets either. They’re special too!

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays! Whatever way you like to say it! May it be a wonderful time for you!

Weekend Thoughts – Saturday & Sunday

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Saturday December 17, 2011

Venus meets up with Angry Saturn
Saturn, when it butts up as a hard alignment creates blockages, barriers and severe repression. It can create a hard backlash. It is now forming one such hard alignment to Venus and it’s peaking this weekend.

In late November right around the time of the New Moon of November 25, Venus was positioned around 26/27 degrees of Sagittarius. That placed it right on the burgeoning power of the Galactic Center in the Milky Way.

There appears to be a field of energy emanating out of that point. Just as Venus entered that zone, Egypt erupted again with violent demonstrations against the military government. The news was flooded with images of tens of thousands of people gathering together to demonstrate. Seething masses were boiling and percolating on the streets of Cairo.

They have since been holding elections and during the Mercury retrograde, the military government appeared to be acquiescing to the demands of the demonstrators. But now with Mercury moving direct again, the picture is changing.

Venus has carried the energy of the Galactic Center with it since the point of the New Moon in late November. The New Moon (seed) has crossed the First Quarter Phase (flower), moved on past the Full Moon (fruit) and is now at the Last Quarter Phase (harvest). We are now at the point in the lunar cycle where we receive the outcome.

And with Venus now butting up against a hard alignment to Saturn, the situation in Egypt has turned nasty. The military has adopted a hardline approach. Soldiers beat demonstrators with batons in Cairo’s Tahrir Square on Saturday in a second day of clashes that have killed nine people and wounded more than 300. The Venus/Saturn clash is manifesting as military repression in Cairo. Hardline attitudes will probably emerge elsewhere in the world too.

I’m sure that it comes as no accident that this turmoil is happening in Egypt, the ancient land of the pharaohs, pyramids and sphinx. I have a sneaking suspicion that some long dormant power is waking up. The sphinx, like a cat, has been watching and waiting for untold millennia for a momentous transition in the celestial picture. 2012 is coming. It’s going to be a big year.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Sunday December 18, 2011

The Sun meets the Galactic Center
Fasten your seat belts! We’re swirling into the slipstream of 2012, the last year of the Mayan Long Count Calendar. Decembers have turned into critical months of initiation. It’s all to do with the Galactic Center at 26/27 degrees of Sagittarius. It’s fizzing and frothing with energy. The popcorn is popping.

When Venus (human relations) first reached the Galactic Center this year in late January, Egypt erupted with demonstrations against President Hosni Mubarak. Since that time, after completing one full revolution around our sky, Venus returned to that point again in late November. Lo and behold, demonstrations erupted once more in Egypt, this time against the military.

Today, it was the Sun’s turn to reach 26/27 degrees of Sagittarius. The Sun represents leadership and prominent people. Just as the Sun reached that critical celestial degree, the shocking news broke of the death of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-il at the age of 65. His death was announced in a tearful statement read out on national television.

Remarkable, isn’t it, to watch the manifestation of celestial event. More dramatic news may erupt in the next few days as the Sun continues past the Galactic Center. On Friday Dec 24 this week on the last day of this 29.5-day lunar month, the Moon will carry the energy of today over the GC.

The New Moon of this coming Saturday marks the start of another lunar month. It seems like each new month tries to outdo the last month with shocking news. New seeds will be planted that will grow through the First Quarter, Full Moon and Last Quarter phases.

This week is the time to prepare for Saturday’s New Moon. Yes, get those proverbial ducks in a straight line. With Mercury gaining speed in forward motion and the proactive energy of a New Moon approaching, you must be ready to explode with determination and purpose with the report of the starter’s pistil.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Saturday December 10, 2011

West Coast Gets to See Saturday’s Lunar Eclipse
The west coast of Canada and the States will have a chance to see a Total Lunar Eclipse early Saturday morning. It’ll be the last one until April 15, 2014. The disk of the Full Moon will turn a shade of copper-red as it passes through Earth’s shadow between 4:45am and 8:18am PT.

Totality will last a little over 50 minutes starting at 6:05am PT. The peak of the eclipse will take place at 6:30am PT. That’s about 1-1/2 hours before the Sun is scheduled to rise and the Moon is scheduled to set in Vancouver.

Eastern Canada will miss out on it because the peak takes place well after dawn. Central Canada may be able to catch the earlier stages of the eclipse at 3:33am PT, when the moon dims slightly as it enters the Earth’s shadow.

Hawaii, Australia and East Asia will have ringside seat of the eclipse, which takes place during their night. There was a Total Lunar Eclipse last June which was visible in Europe, Asia and Africa. North America missed out on that one because it took place during the daytime.

Full Moon/Total Eclipses are powerful. This one will have the Moon in Gemini and the Sun in Sagittarius and with the power of Uranus (surprises and sudden change) cresting in power that makes this eclipse particularly big and potent.

Uranus (revolution) now begins its 8 month journey in forward motion that will lead it to the first of 7 direct and climatic clashes with Pluto (repressed energy) in June 2012. It’s all leading to the final year of the Mayan Calendar. What 2012 will bring remains to be seen., but we may get a taster before the end of this year.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Sunday December 11, 2011

Mercury Embarks on a Journey to the Far Side of the Sun
The Moon reached fullness on Saturday as it passed through the Earth’s shadow. It was the second Total Lunar Eclipse of this year and the last one until 2014. We’ll have to settle with Partial Lunar Eclipses until that time. It was watched from Australia, Asia and the west coast of North America. Full Moons magnify the mood and prevailing energy of life. Lunar Eclipses add a bold exclamation mark. It makes them all the more potent.

They may not be getting a lot of media attention yet, but certain volcanoes have sprung to life in the Canary Islands, Ecuador, Indonesia and Iceland. We can expect much more to come.

Restless tectonic plates have been grinding and crunching producing a rise in the number of earthquakes. A 6.7-magnitude tremblor struck Mexico Saturday night, shaking building and sending people rushing out on to the street. The quake, which struck the western state of Guerrero at 7:47pm local time (8:45pm ET) was strongly felt in Mexico City.

At the same time as the Full Moon/Total Lunar Eclipse, Uranus ended its retrograde phase (backward motion) and began a 7-month period of direct motion that lead into July. The Total Lunar Eclipse magnified this celestial event.

Uranus is the planet of revolution and sudden change, so we can expect dramatic events to transpire. A Russian Spring appears to have kicked off with the above celestial events. At least 60,000 Russians took part in mass protests against Putin’s rule. It’s an omen of more to come. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has never experienced popular protests like these before.

Revolution and destabilization is set to grow worldwide in the coming months. A top US military commander, Gen Martin Dempsey expressed concern about “the potential for civil unrest” as Europe’s financial crisis unfolds. Twenty-six of the 27 EU countries agreed on Friday to forge a tighter fiscal union. Only the UK refused to sign up to a new treaty.

Mercury continues trundle on backwards until Tues/Wed this week when it will stop (Station Direct) and return to direct motion. It’s putting on the brakes now as it prepares to for this crucial shift.

This is a very important stage for you. If you feel blocked, don’t despair. The past 3 weeks has been a time to re-align and re-tool your strategies. Great things happen during Mercury retrograde periods. Old agreements fall apart. New alliances are made.

Get ready to move with Mercury (planet of thought) when he slowly pulls away on Tues/Wed of this week like a ship slowly leaving port. His near approach to Earth is ending. He is now about to embark on a journey that will take him to the far side of the Sun by February 7.

Keep your spirits up. Feed the fire of hope. Wish Mercury well on his journey. He is on a mission to connect you with your hopes, dreams and aspirations. Your thoughts are the sword that will cut a path through the wilderness. Keep them positive! Reject negativity. Your cause is a noble one. The universe is on your side.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Saturday December 3, 2011

Void-of-Course Moon
A long void-of-course Moon kicked in yesterday at 1:06pm ET and runs all through today until the Moon enters Aries at 8:51pm ET. It’s best to avoid making any major decisions or financial transactions during this time. If you need to speak to someone concerning getting a project off the ground or getting some requirements satisfied, you’d be best advised to not do it during this time span.

Void Moons come about every 54 hours in the period preceding it’s entry into a new sign. They’re duration can last from minutes to a couple of days. They are usually pretty short and pass unnoticed. If you did have to make a major decision during the period, you’ll fine. The important thing is to not worry. That only exacerbates problems. A positive frame of mind keeps the wolf from the door and turns negatives into positives.

Saturday Evening Update (after 8:51pm)
It’s safe to emerge from under that rock where you’ve been hiding during today’s Void Moon mentioned above. It’s over now. The coast is clear.

By the way, Void Moon periods can be very productive. Life doesn’t have to grind to a halt. The show must go on. These are good periods of time for working on tasks, mulling decisions or having plain old fun. Just avoid making important decisions or business transactions. Important decisions or crucial meetings won’t reach their intended outcome. And as far as business transactions go, the money raised or invested will not thrive. It’s like planting seeds in a gale. They’ll just blow away and not take.

Moon in Aries
The nice thing about this Void Moon period is that it ended with the Moons entry into Aries. That happens once a month. In that period of time the Moon has traversed all twelve signs and returned the feisty action-sign of Aries. This always brings a lovely surge of proactive energy.

If, since 8:51pm ET tonight, you feel a rise in your optimism or an extra little spring in your step, you’re picking up on the Aries energy. Don’t let that feeling get away on you. Surf it up! The tide is rising! Jump on that wave and ride with it. It’ll fast track you to where you need to be.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Sunday December 4, 2011

Barriers will Fall Away
We’ve reached the halfway point of this 21-day Mercury retrograde period. It ends next Tuesday December 13. If you’re finding it hard to make certain important decisions, it’s only normal. You’ve got a lot of information and feelings to sift through. And it’s probably about issues with which you’re not very familiar.

You may be feeling pressure to make up your mind, but doing so would be premature. Do what you can to stall any major decision until after the Dec 14 if you can. You’ll be in a better position to make a well-informed decision after that date.

A caustic angle of 90-degrees between Mercury and Mars (aggression) is creating a lot of pressure and anxiety right now. It is the second of three encounters: Oct 28, Dec 4 and Jan 1.

Mercury first crossed over that volatile spot on Oct 28. It then swiftly carried on its merry way leaving Mars behind. But on Nov 24 it stopped and reversed direction (station retrograde), thus beginning a journey back towards Mars leading to today’s second encounter.

Over the next 10 days, Mercury will continue moving backwards leaving Mars in the distance yet again. But on Dec 13 it will come to a full stop and resume forward motion (station direct) and head back towards Mars for a third and final encounter.

This alignment appears to be linked to the tension building up over Iran’s nuclear programme and worsening relations with the west. The first few days of January could be explosive as that warlike Mars squares up with Mercury, just as the fleet-footed messenger nears the Galactic Center. The last time Mercury crossed over the Galactic Center (26/27 degrees of Sagittarius) Gabrielle Gibson was shot in the Tucson Massacre in Arizona last Jan 8.

Mars rules explosives. The Mercury square Mars has manifested in a most bizarre way with the discovery of World War II bomb found in the River Rhine near the western German city of Koblenz. The city took no chances and evacuated 45,000 people. Everyone living within a 2km radius of the bomb site has been ordered to leave the area. The latest news today is that it was safely diffused.

On Saturday December 10, there will be a Total Lunar Eclipse in Gemini-Sagittarius. It’s the last eclipse of the year. There’s a lot of drama building up to that day with Uranus (unpredictability) returning to direct motion (station direct). The master of surprises, Uranus, will reach a crescendo pitch of power with the Full Moon.

The sky is full of energy this week. It has the potential to blast away barriers that have held you back. Maintain a mood of determination, hope and optimism, and you’ll find that obstacles that once held you back get blown away.

We are all born with a distinct purpose and an exciting destiny waiting to be fulfilled, but the deafening din of this mad world makes it virtually impossible to correctly get our bearings.

Weekend Thoughts – Saturday & Sunday

Venus Collides with Uranus
Welcome to Day-2 of the 29.5-day lunar month. It’s off with a big bang. It began yesterday with a Solar Eclipse and a Perigee Moon. This will make this lunar month stand out. As I’ve been mentioning, it will undoubtedly bring extreme weather and seismic events. Tectonic plates are waking up and shifting. Like a colony of crowed turtles in beach sand, they are feeling the call to move and migrate. Volcanoes are gurgling. Magma is boiling.

Late tonight, Venus crashes into a square alignment with Uranus, the planet of revolution and sudden change. It will then travel in a highly volatile zone of the sky until Thursday when it merges with Pluto. It was only on Wednesday and Thursday that it passed over the frothy Galactic Center (26/27 deg of Sagittarius). Intense energy is bubbling up out of that area in the Milky Way. It’s remarkable. I’ve never seen anything like it before. It must be building up to December 21, 2012 – the Mayan Calendar end-date.

Venus rules finance, the feminine principle, feelings and the relationships of all existence on planet Earth. As Venus moves through this stormy area this week, cracks and fractures will open still wider in old established political, social and financial structures. News emerged today that Nato aircraft were behind a deadly overnight raid on a Pakistani border checkpoint. The incident looks set to deal a fresh blow to US-Pakistan relations. Let’s watch how this develops as this Lunar Month unfolds through the New, First Quarter, Full and Last Quarter phases.

Venus’ journey between Uranus and Pluto is producing a highly dynamic energy that is being picked up by the young waxing Moon and the Mercury retrograde. For you as an individual this holds the promise of opportunities, as long as you don’t succumb to fear. That’s not an easy task when old structures come tumbling down.

But if you insist in trusting that the change that is entering your life is coming for a good reason and that a compassionate universe is doing its best to establish a more just and humane world – you’ll find that this lunar month will turn out to be a wonderful one for you. A benevolent star is watching over you. It will keep you safe.

Turbulent Weather
Here we go with the extreme weather that I’ve been warning about over the past few days. It’s a situation that always accompanies Perigee New Moons. This is when the monthly close near Earth approach of the Moon coincides with a New or Full Moon.

Wind gusts reaching 130km/h wreaked havoc in southern Alberta Sunday. In Calgary, gale-force winds that hit 76 km/h in Calgary smashed windows in a highrise office and triggered the city Municipal Emergency Plan. Traffic was closed in the city’s downtown and the public was warned to stay indoors.

It’s hard to pinpoint where in the world the extreme weather will hit, but it could hit anywhere. Tornadoes are highly likely in the usual southern US states. We can expect the situation to continue throughout this 29.5-day lunar month. Earthquake and volcanic activity is on the rise too.

Venus is caught between a rock and hard place (SunNov27 to ThursDec1) as it travels through a highly turbulent area of the sky affected by the epic Pluto/Uranus square. The peak tension will run from Sunday to Thursday. This planetary strife has manifested in the deadly Nato raid at a Pakistan checkpoint which has heightened already tense relations between Pakistan and the US and Nato. Social and political unrest in Egypt and Syria can be expected to flare still higher this week.

Combining the above with Mercury just having turned retrograde (backward motion) will make it easy to misplace things and lose track of your belongings. Take care to not get swept into a big rush.

It all sounds a bit dire, but it’s nothing you can’t beat if you prepare yourself for it. Good things are happening too thanks to Venus and Jupiter. Focus your attention on upbeat news, smiling faces and the warmth of your friends and family. A warm heart keeps the cold outside. Success is a state of mind!

We are all born with a distinct purpose and an exciting destiny waiting to be fulfilled, but the deafening din of this mad world makes it virtually impossible to correctly get our bearings.
